Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nakagawa Kunisada (ranked 5803 p4p, 4167 weight class) and Darjus Nikolaichev (ranked 592 p4p, 475 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nakagawa Kunisada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darjus Nikolaichev!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kunisada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nikolaichev pinned against the cage. Nikolaichev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kunisada keeps the fight on the outside.
Kunisada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nikolaichev wants to counter with a clinch but Kunisada pushes him away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kunisada.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nakagawa Kunisada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kunisada rushes Nikolaichev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Nikolaichev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kunisada walks away with a smile on his face. Nikolaichev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nakagawa Kunisada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nikolaichev tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kunisada seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Kunisada pushes Nikolaichev up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kunisada gets control of Nikolaichev's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kunisada will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kunisada definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Nikolaichev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kunisada has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nikolaichev has managed to get both his arms back between Kunisada's legs - danger averted.

Kunisada escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nikolaichev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kunisada has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nikolaichev is working away from the top position though.

Nikolaichev is looking to advance position but Kunisada won't allow it.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Nikolaichev wants to pass the guard but Kunisada is defending well.

Kunisada is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nikolaichev pulls his head out easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kunisada wants to control but Nikolaichev is keeping busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kunisada or perhaps it was just good defense by Nikolaichev, which made it look bad.
Nikolaichev tries to counter with a clinch but Kunisada shakes him off and moves away.

Kunisada fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nikolaichev avoids it really well and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nikolaichev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nikolaichev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kunisada's guard.

A close round but Darjus Nikolaichev will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kunisada shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nikolaichev as he jumps to the side.

Kunisada wants to clinch up but Nikolaichev keeps it at a distance.

Kunisada darts in looking for a takedown but Nikolaichev gets double underhooks and turns Kunisada into the cage.

Kunisada has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nikolaichev uses from the top position.

Kunisada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nikolaichev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nikolaichev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nakagawa Kunisada.
I think Kunisada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
