PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bugg Nevans (ranked 4591 p4p, 4655 weight class) and Scoot Tatum (ranked 556 p4p, 559 weight class). Nevans comes into the arena with My Love for Evermore - The Hillbilly Moon Explosion blaring out of the sound system. Tatum is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Harry Slash And The Slashtones - Huka Blues. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tatum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nevans somewhat.

Tatum closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tatum lands in his opponent's guard.

Tatum sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nevans's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nevans takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Tatum just content to control the position.
Tatum has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Nevans!
Tatum takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tatum throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Nevans has his hands clasped together but Tatum breaks the hold and Nevans is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Tatum!

A relieved looking Scoot Tatum thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
