The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy thuds a left hand into Kuragi's body.
Kuragi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kennedy.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kennedy. Kuragi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kennedy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kuragi was well out of range. Poor timing from Kennedy.
Kennedy sets himself, and Kuragi steps forward looking for the clinch! Kennedy avoids it this time.
Kuragi ducks under a wild hook from Kennedy.
Kennedy lands with an overhand left.
Kennedy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kennedy throws an overhand right that lands on Kuragi's shoulder, as Kuragi tries to avoid the shot.
Kuragi steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kennedy.
Kuragi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kennedy!
Kuragi is trying to get an arm triangle but Kennedy is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kuragi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kuragi has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kennedy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kuragi yanks on the arm and Kennedy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kuragi.
