Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bud Light (ranked 4660 p4p, 5196 weight class) and Chow Man (ranked 399 p4p, 410 weight class). Bud Light has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bud Light!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chow Man!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light lands with a slapping head kick.

Light gets caught flat footed, as Man shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Man is looking to work some ground and pound but Light has wrist control.
Man missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Man has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Light keeping full guard, as Man tries to pass.

Man drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Man jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Man trying to control but Light is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Light swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Light scores with a head kick. Man tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Light pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Man throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Light tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Man is in Light's guard.
Man forces his way into half guard.
Man is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Man throwing shots but Light is blocking nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Man wants to control but Light is keeping him busy.
Man wants to pass to mount but Light is defending the position.
Light knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Man on the ground.
Man seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Light does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Man trying to mount his opponent but Light defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man moves into full mount! Light won't be happy about that!
Light is trying to stand up.
Man unloading with bombs!
Man looking to finish with strikes here!
Light is squirming around, avoiding Man's attempts to control the action.
Man postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Light looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Light avoids a series of strikes thrown by Man.
Man landing strikes from the mount and Light is in trouble!
Light really wants to buck Man off and get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Man controlling the position easily from mount.

Man looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chow Man dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Man feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Man throws an elbow that misses. Light uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Man's guard. Nice move by Light!

Light will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Man had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Light defends it easily.
Light stopping the sweep attempt from Man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Man bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Light's guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Light is looking to stand up but Man isn't so interested in that idea.
Man looking to pass the guard.
Man's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Light working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Man.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Man accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Light utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Light keeping full guard, as Man tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Man is still trying to improve position.
Light being controlled here, momentarily.
Man has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Man wants to control from the top but Light keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Man looking to score a takedown here. Light is defending well but Man drives through and ends up in Light's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Man is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Man throwing strikes from guard but Light blocks nicely.
Man pushing down on Light's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Light really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Man not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Man content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Light sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Man is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Man not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Man thows a huge punch but Light dodges it nicely.
Man moves nicely into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chow Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Light lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Light sprawls well initially but Man persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Man is looking for a kimura but Light is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Man to get the leverage.
Man trying to control from half guard but Light is working away.
Man missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Man throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Chow Man has got the better of the ground game so far.

Man not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Man thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Light is looking to escape.
Light keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Man is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Man with good strikes from the mount here!
Man misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Man sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Man unloads with some shots from mount but Light bucks and avoids them well.
Man misses with a head shot.
Chow Man is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Man takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Light is trying to stand.
Man looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Man has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Chow Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Man winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
