The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ihantala avoids the head kick by Smith.
Ihantala connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Onterrio Smith has been cut.
Ihantala throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
A big right from Ihantala misses.
Smith thows a leg kick but Ihantala checks it
and Ihantala counters with a nice uppercut.
Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ihantala lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Ihantala walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smith misses with a looping right.
A shot to the liver by Ihantala. Beautiful body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ihantala comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A lazy body kick from Smith
and Ihantala cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ihantala scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Ihantala lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Ihantala stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet!

Smith is rocked!

That has opened up Onterrio Smith's cut even more.

Ihantala finds Smith's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Smith flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Ihantala lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Smith will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tali Ihantala!
Tali Ihantala decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
