Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Holt Dennis!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula throws a leg kick

and Dennis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dennis chips away with some ground and pound.
Dennis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dennis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dennis working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Dennis looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Dennis distracts Nastula with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dennis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dennis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dennis lands a couple of elbows.

Dennis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Nastula on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nastula tries to get out of the position.

Dennis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Nastula has momentary wrist control but Dennis slips an elbow through the middle.
Dennis connects with a couple of short punches.
Dennis lands a couple of digs.
Dennis scoring with punches to the head and body.
Dennis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dennis's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dennis advances to half guard.
Nastula really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dennis drops an elbow to the side of Nastula's head.

Dennis is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dennis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dennis controlling the pace.

Dennis is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nastula is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Holt Dennis!
