And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Greene!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Greene shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jankens manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jankens looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jankens looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jankens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Greene manages to get himself to full guard.

Jankens trying to control the position from guard on top but Greene is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jankens controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greene wants to sweep but no luck.

Greene is trying to control the position but Jankens postures up.
Jankens sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Greene really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jankens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Greene wants to get back to his feet but Jankens is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jankens loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jankens stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jankens shoots in looking for a takedown. Greene tries to sprawl out of it but Jankens keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Greene manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Greene darts in and clinches Jankens up against the cage.
Jankens tries to pull guard but Greene won't allow it.

Greene breaks the clinch.

Greene looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Greene wants to pass the guard but Jankens is keeping the position.

Jankens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Greene can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jankens throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Greene preventing the sweep.

Greene working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerry Jankens will probably get the nod.

Greene wants to control from the top but Jankens keeps moving.
Greene must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Greene's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jankens has momentary wrist control but Greene slips an elbow through the middle.
Jankens tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Greene controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Greene clinches with his opponent.
Jankens tries to circle away but Greene has him pinned against the cage.
Greene stalling.
Greene gets underhooks to prevent Jankens's takedown attempt.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Greene.
Jankens misses with an elbow over the top.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Greene.

Greene has Jankens pressed against the cage.

Greene gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Greene controlling the action here.
Jankens is refusing to be controlled, as Greene sits in half guard.
Greene wants to pass to mount but Jankens is defending the position.
Jankens is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Greene in particular looking to stall.
Greene's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Jankens misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jankens gets caught flat footed, as Greene shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jankens manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Greene as Jankens tries to tie him up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Greene showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jankens is looking to take a break and control but Greene is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Greene holding on.
Jankens wants to control but Greene is keeping him busy.
Greene is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jankens has just dragged him back down to the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Greene is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Greene's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Greene dodges the ground and pound from Jankens.
Jankens controlling from side mount.

Jankens is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Greene has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jankens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Jankens trying to control the position but Greene is working away.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Greene wants to get back to his feet but Jankens is dominant here and he's now got Greene's back!

Greene is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Jankens off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Greene is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jankens gets his way!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Greene looking very determined here, making life difficult for Jankens.
I really don't envy Greene right now.

Jankens is persistently looking for the submission but Greene is defending it well.
Greene trying to control the hands but Jankens won't let him.
