The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doober swivels and escapes.
Doober dodges the punch combination from Cruse.
Doober connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cruse throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Doober.
Cruse throws a jab when Doober was well out of range.
No luck for Cruse with that takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doober. Cruse does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cruse's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Doober connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cruse scrambles back to his feet.
Doober connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cruse momentarily.
Doober lands a glancing blow to the side of Cruse's head.
Cruse gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Doober is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Doober comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Doober. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Doober.
Doober moves in looking to clinch but Cruse pushes him off.

Doober tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cruse was well out of range. Poor timing from Doober.

Cruse drops his hands momentarily and Doober takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Doober moves into the clinch.
Cruse throws a knee to the head but misses.
Doober lands a nice shot to the body.
Doober misses with a hook to the ribs.
Doober lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cruse backwards.
Doober misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Doober manages to break the clinch.
Doober is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cruse had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Cruse takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Doober connects with a right hand. Cruse shakes it off.
Oh Cruse is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruse shoots in for a double leg but Doober sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
It seemed like Doober was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Cruse sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Doober's guard.

Cruse wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Doober, who protects the arm well.
Cruse has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Doober!

Cruse is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Doober is forced to tap! Great finish!
