PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cendrik Evans (ranked 2909 p4p, 6825 weight class) and Vvv Vvv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, KB. Cendrik Evans is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cendrik Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vvv Vvv!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans has his takedown stuffed
and Vvv counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Evans is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Vvv keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vvv is defended easily by Evans.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vvv gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Evans postures up in Vvv's guard and throws a big left but Vvv blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vvv keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Evans stops Vvv from standing up.
Evans wants to get up but he can't break Vvv's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans wants to control from the top but Vvv keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Evans stands up from Vvv's guard - Evans perhaps looking for a knockout.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Evans tries a head kick but it misses.
Evans fails with the takedown.
Vvv is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cendrik Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vvv steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Evans shoots in looking for a takedown but Vvv manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Evans's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vvv counters with a body kick.

Evans rushes Vvv and presses him up against the cage.

Vvv breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Evans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vvv is fending him off so far but Evans persists. Nope, Vvv circles away and we're back to standing.
Evans is breathing heavily.

Evans clinches up against the cage.

Vvv pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Evans shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vvv counters with a nice body kick.
Evans looks for a takedown but Vvv sprawls well.
Vvv flicks out a counter leg kick but Evans steps away.

Vvv decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Vvv is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Vvv is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Vvv decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
A slapping body kick lands there for Vvv.
Evans really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vvv shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Evans wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vvv manages to pass to side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Vvv gets a double leg takedown into Evans's guard.
Evans controls Vvv momentarily but Vvv frees himself.
Vvv Vvv has got the better of the ground game so far.
Evans wants to sweep but no luck.
Vvv must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Evans manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Vvv breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vvv closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evans circles away.

Vvv shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Evans manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vvv manages to get himself to full guard.

Vvv wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Evans drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vvv looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vvv looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vvv!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vvv wants to stand but Evans has his arm trapped.

Evans is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Vvv tries to stand but Evans is controlling his head.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Evans can't do much from the bottom here.
Vvv staying calm.
Evans is trying to control Vvv's posture but Vvv avoids it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Vvv Vvv will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Vvv tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.
Vvv takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

And Vvv responds with a good body kick, but Evans manages to step out the way in time.

Evans closes the distance and clinches up with Vvv, looking for a takedown. Evans pushes Vvv against the cage but Vvv circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vvv fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Evans sprawls well initially but Vvv persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vvv tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Evans pushes Vvv off looking to stand but Vvv dives back in and keeps control.

Vvv really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vvv tries to stand and escape but Evans is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vvv would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Evans will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vvv seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Evans wants to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vvv wants to stand up but Evans is controlling the position.
Cendrik Evans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
