Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edvards Berzina (ranked 4494 p4p, 6602 weight class) and Mmm Mmm (ranked 278 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berzina tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mmm swivels and escapes.
Berzina throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mmm counters with a nice body kick.
Berzina looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mmm is trying to counter with his kicks.
Berzina shoots in but Mmm avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Berzina throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mmm counters with a good, hard body kick but Berzina shrugs it off.
Berzina thows a left - swing and a miss!
And Mmm responds with a good body kick, but Berzina manages to step out the way in time.

Mmm manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Berzina on his heels. He'll look to pass Berzina's guard now, I'm sure.

Berzina scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Mmm feints and as Berzina raises his hands in defense, Mmm changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mmm is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Berzina wants to sweep but no luck.
Berzina is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Berzina is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Mmm as he works his way to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Berzina uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mmm has time to react.

That was a close round but I would say that Edvards Berzina will probably get the nod.

Mmm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berzina. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mmm takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Berzina is desperately trying to improve his position but Mmm has a good base and remains in mount.

Berzina feints a jab promting Mmm to slip. Berzina then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mmm slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Mmm closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Berzina quickly recovers to half guard.
Berzina wants to stand back up but Mmm manages to pass into side control.

Mmm follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Berzina tries to bum rush Mmm with a series of wild strikes but Mmm uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mmm steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Mmm throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Berzina was covering up waiting for the punch and Mmm finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mmm fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Berzina to the ground. Mmm is now in Berzina's guard.

Mmm stands and steps away. Berzina gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
No joy there for Berzina, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
