Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kayden Sonefeld (ranked 4378 p4p, 4542 weight class) and Lyota Wont (ranked 0 p4p, 487 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyota Wont!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wont scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sonefeld looks for a takedown but Wont sprawls well.
Sonefeld throws a shot to the body.
Sonefeld closes the distance and clinches.
Wont misses with a punch on the inside.
Wont fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wont is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Wont is trying to break the clinch but Sonefeld has him pressed against the cage.
Wont jumps guard but Sonefeld turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wont is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wont is trying to drag Sonefeld to the mat but Sonefeld just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sonefeld jumps into guard, dragging Wont to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wont stands up from Sonefeld's guard - Wont perhaps looking for a knockout.

Wont drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sonefeld pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Sonefeld counters by moving into the clinch.
Sonefeld gets control of Wont's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sonefeld will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sonefeld has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wont is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wont tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sonefeld's elbow.

Sonefeld closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wont really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonefeld. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sonefeld has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wont can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wont wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sonefeld.

Wont displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sonefeld.
Wont shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sonefeld as he avoids it easily.
Sonefeld is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Wont.

Sonefeld ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sonefeld no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Wont dives in and grabs Sonefeld's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sonefeld pushes down on Wont's head and hops out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sonefeld enables Wont to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sonefeld manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sonefeld is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wont presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wont has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sonefeld is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Sonefeld seems content to control.

Sonefeld misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A nice side step and Wont releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sonefeld closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wont quickly recovers to half guard.
Well, if Sonefeld is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
