Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David McDonald (ranked 1145 p4p, 2826 weight class) and Malachi Lawrence (ranked 155 p4p, 355 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malachi Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
It looks like Malachi Lawrence has been cut.
Lawrence throws a looping overhand right but McDonald ducks down to avoid it.
Lawrence lands an overhand right.
It looks like David McDonald has been cut.
McDonald lands a front kick.
Lawrence misses with a shot to the body
and McDonald counters with a body kick that stops Lawrence in his tracks momentarily.
McDonald changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lawrence looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McDonald trying to control the position but Lawrence is working away.
McDonald working the ground and pound but Lawrence is defending the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lawrence manages to get back to half guard.
McDonald scoring with strikes to the body and head.
McDonald controlling the pace.
Lawrence tries to roll over but McDonald keeps him under control.
McDonald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McDonald looks to land a strike but Lawrence avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawrence keeping moving, preventing McDonald from controlling successfully.
McDonald controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lawrence is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lawrence trying to control from half guard but McDonald is working away.
Lawrence thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McDonald's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDonald wants to get back to full guard.
McDonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lawrence is working away from the top position though.
Lawrence landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
McDonald wants to control but Lawrence is keeping busy.
Lawrence prevents McDonald from improving his position.
Lawrence is keen to just control but McDonald is a slippery customer.
McDonald tries to roll over but Lawrence keeps him under control.
Lawrence stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lawrence getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Lawrence moves out of range of the body kick.
Lawrence lands with a hook. McDonald tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McDonald gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lawrence.
Lawrence throws a big overhand right that connects, sending McDonald tumbling to the canvas!
McDonald is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDonald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oh McDonald is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lawrence is working McDonald over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Lawrence loads up on a big left hand. McDonald felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Lawrence looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! McDonald can't hide his disappointment, as Lawrence celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Malachi Lawrence!
