Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Bravo (ranked 1887 p4p, 2290 weight class) and Christopher Irwin (ranked 198 p4p, 232 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Irwin!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bravo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Irwin stays in close to Bravo's body and controls the position.
Bravo trying to control the position.
Irwin wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.
Bravo keeping full guard, as Irwin tries to pass.

Bravo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Irwin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Irwin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Bravo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Irwin wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Irwin is stalling here. Bravo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Irwin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bravo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Irwin tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bravo decides to stand back up. Bravo steps back and let's Irwin get back to his feet.

Irwin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Bravo prevents Irwin from moving into mount.
Irwin takes a little break here. Bravo wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Irwin throws an elbow but Bravo slips to the side and avoids it well.

Irwin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Irwin goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bravo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Irwin's guard! Nice work there by Bravo!
Irwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bravo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Irwin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bravo has managed to get both his arms back between Irwin's legs - danger averted.

Bravo is fighting to break Irwin's control of his arms but Irwin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Irwin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bravo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Irwin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Irwin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Christopher Irwin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bravo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A very excited looking Christopher Irwin rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
