Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between brian surr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hadley Doane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). surr's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, momma said knock you out!. Doane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Step Up- Drowning Pool kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! brian surr has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doane looks to land a combination but surr avoids it well.
Doane moves out of range of the body kick.
Doane looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Doane looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Doane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A telegraphed right hand from surr misses the target.
Doane uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before surr has time to react.
surr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doane's waist but Doane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing surr off to one side.
surr throws a hook to the side of Doane's head but Doane sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Doane fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Doane goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Doane lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and surr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from surr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Doane should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
surr shoots in for a takedown but Doane shows good takedown defense.

Doane lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like brian surr has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Doane has control of surr's left arm, preventing surr from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doane wants to control the position but surr says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
You can see the frustration on Doane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hadley Doane dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

surr bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Doane's head.
A slow jab from surr misses its intended target.
surr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
surr just misses with a punch to the body.
surr scores with a hook to the body. Doane takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hadley Doane seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Doane looks to land a combination but surr avoids it well.
Doane uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from surr.
surr throws a push kick but Doane slaps the foot to one side.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Doane crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from surr - the referee stops the clock and Doane gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says surr. Doane manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Doane bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Doane. No joy for surr on that attempt.
Doane throws a body punch but surr moves out of range.
surr dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Doane. That did some damage!
surr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

surr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Doane's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

surr is thwarting Doane's attempts to control the position.
surr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Doane is trying to control but can't.
Doane is looking for a sweep. surr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

surr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Doane defends it well.
Doane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of surr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take surr's back!
surr manages to reverse the position and now he's in Doane's guard. Nice work there by surr.

Doane is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

surr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
surr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doane swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

surr tries for a takedown but Doane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Doane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with surr but surr pushes him off and we're back to square one.

surr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! surr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Doane looks for the body kick but surr saw that one coming.
surr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doane tries to avoid it but surr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doane to the ground. Doane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Doane tries a head kick but it misses.
surr takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Doane throws a right and a left that surr avoids nicely.
surr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Doane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
surr is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Doane is landing with some decent strikes but surr is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting surr here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Doane is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But surr has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from surr!

Doane is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
