Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Tima (ranked 4586 p4p, 6527 weight class) and Jan Rusov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthew Tima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Rusov!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tima has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rusov looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rusov is trying to break the clinch but Tima has him pressed against the cage.
Tima keeps control of Rusov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Tima jumps guard and drags Rusov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tima is trying to control the position but Rusov postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rusov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tima shoots in looking for a takedown but Rusov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tima's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rusov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tima as he jumps to the side.
Tima appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Rusov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tima but Tima pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That was a close round but I would say that Matthew Tima will probably get the nod.

Tima walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rusov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tima looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rusov unleashes a big counter combination but Tima bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Rusov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Tima shoots and misses
and Rusov counters with a three punch combo that has Tima backing up. Tima nods at Rusov to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rusov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tima tries to avoid it but Rusov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tima to the ground. Tima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rusov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tima sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rusov somewhat.
Rusov dives in for a single leg takedown but Tima sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Horrible takedown attempt by Rusov or perhaps it was just good defense by Tima, which made it look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthew Tima.
I think Tima has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
