Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Templey (ranked 4734 p4p, 4774 weight class) and Senior Coles (ranked 0 p4p, 493 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Senior Coles!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Templey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Coles is fending him off so far but Templey persists. Nope, Coles circles away and we're back to standing.

Coles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Templey tries to improve position but can't.
Coles is chipping away with strikes.

Coles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Templey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Templey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coles wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Coles wants to control but Templey is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Templey keeps working.

Coles works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Templey is working to avoid the ground and pound but Coles connects with a decent elbow.
Coles in side control, throwing shots but Templey defends.
Coles cracks Templey with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Coles wants to control but Templey is keeping him busy.

Coles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coles tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coles has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Coles content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Templey gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Coles looking to finish Templey with some ground and pound. This is bad for Templey!

Coles working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Templey turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Coles off and cradles Templey's limp body as Coles celebrates with his corner.
