PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Scott (ranked 4722 p4p, 4776 weight class) and Klaus Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Klaus Weiss!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weiss throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Scott pushes Weiss up against the cage in a clinch.

Scott breaks from the clinch.
Weiss tries to clinch but Scott moves out of range.
Scott leaves Weiss with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Weiss.
Scott shoots in for a takedown but Weiss shows good takedown defense.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Scott.
Weiss wants to control but Scott postures up.

Scott stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Scott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scott wants it to stay on the feet.

As Scott backs off Weiss throws a huge counter combo but Scott manages to avoid it all.

Weiss's corner calls for a 1-2. Weiss obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Weiss steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Scott. That one must have hurt.

and Weiss counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Weiss closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weiss jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Scott walks away with a smile on his face. Weiss gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Weiss looks for a takedown but Scott sprawls well.

Weiss clobbers Scott with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Scott.

A close round but Klaus Weiss will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Weiss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Weiss off to one side.

Scott manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Klaus Weiss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Weiss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
