Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Sokovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Skafte!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokovic walks into a left hand.

Sokovic dives in and scores a takedown into Skafte's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Skafte avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Sokovic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sokovic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sokovic trying to control but Skafte is working from the bottom.
Skafte seems keen to control Sokovic's posture.
Sokovic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Skafte preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sokovic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sokovic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Skafte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sokovic.
Skafte is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Skafte is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Skafte pulls Sokovic in close to prevent any damage.
Sokovic prevents Skafte from getting back to his feet.
Sokovic stands and throws Skafte's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sokovic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Skafte has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sokovic trying to control the action but Skafte is working from the bottom.

Sokovic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Skafte parries the strikes from Sokovic easily there. Sokovic is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Skafte to escape.

Sokovic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sokovic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sokovic has an Americana. Skafte didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sokovic is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sokovic hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). David Sokovic!
