The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Marcus unleashes a big counter combination but Mayer bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Marcus has managed to clinch.
Mayer has a couple of punches blocked by Marcus.
Marcus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mayer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Marcus moves forwards but Mayer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Marcus fails with a takedown attempt.
Mayer tries to land a leg kick but Marcus saw it coming and moves away.
Marcus ducks under a wild hook from Mayer.
Mayer connects with the punch.
Mayer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marcus on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
