Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chunk Liddell (ranked 3232 p4p, 24885 weight class) and John Matrix (ranked 386 p4p, 622 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chunk Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Matrix!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Liddell goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That kick from Matrix tenderised Liddell's leg. Liddell is trying to keep his angry face on.
Matrix pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matrix ducks under a wild hook from Liddell.
Liddell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matrix manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Liddell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liddell pushing down on Matrix's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Liddell uses his free foot to push down on Matrix's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Matrix.

Matrix takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Liddell looking to finish Matrix with some ground and pound. This is bad for Matrix!
Matrix is rocked!
Matrix has left one of his arms exposed and Liddell doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Matrix screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chunk Liddell!
After winning the bout, Chunk Liddell thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
