Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Odd Job (ranked 1576 p4p, 3122 weight class) and Mason Marmot (ranked 211 p4p, 381 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Odd Job!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason Marmot !
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Job shoots in and drives through. Marmot sprawls well.

Marmot gets caught napping as Job dives in and scores a takedown. Marmot manages to retain guard.
Marmot working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Job.
Job landing some decent shots from guard.
Job sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Job keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Marmot 's head.
Job controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marmot can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Job stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marmot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Job engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Job scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Marmot wants to stand but Job is controlling the position.
Job looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marmot is trying to keep Job in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Job's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Job controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Job postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Marmot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Job. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Job is in close to Marmot 's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Job is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Marmot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Job is one step ahead there.
Marmot trying to keep a closed guard but Job is proving a slippery customer.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Job advances to half guard.
Job looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Job lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Job trying to control the pace.

Job is working for a kimura but Marmot is defending it quite comfortably.
Job seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Job works his way into full mount!
BOOM! Job connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Job unloading with bombs!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Job postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Marmot looks a forlorn figure.
Job lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Marmot hang on?
Job tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Odd Job dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Marmot scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Job wants to control but Marmot postures up.
Job is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Marmot tries for a kimura but Job is defending well.
Job is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Job manages to get to full guard.

Job escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marmot gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Job had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marmot defends it easily.
Job controlling the position.
Marmot trying to control the position from guard on top but Job is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Job working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Job is looking to cinch up a triangle. Marmot throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Job's body to avoid the submission. Job has instead reached around Marmot 's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Job arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Odd Job!
