PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ace Bibbs (ranked 4350 p4p, 24156 weight class) and Vvv Vvv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vvv displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bibbs.

Vvv is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bibbs's half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vvv shoots in looking for a takedown. Bibbs tries to sprawl out of it but Vvv keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bibbs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bibbs has had enough of the clinch but Vvv keeps him there for the moment.
Bibbs jumps guard but Vvv stands there with Bibbs around his waist. Bibbs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Vvv is pressed up against the cage. Bibbs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vvv down to the mat. Vvv avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bibbs is looking for a sweep. Vvv is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vvv wants to stand up but Bibbs has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bibbs shoots for a double leg takedown but Vvv sprawls well. He's pushed Bibbs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As Vvv looks to move away, Bibbs throws a big counter combo but Vvv just gets out of the way.

Vvv tries to close the distance and clinch but Bibbs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bibbs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vvv to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Vvv fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bibbs sprawls well initially but Vvv persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bibbs is staying active underneath Vvv, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bibbs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vvv stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ace Bibbs.
