And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zhang Tao!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tao is looking to clinch but Oconnell is avoiding it.
Oconnell throws a counter high kick but Tao was just alert enough to avoid it.
Tao shoots in for a double leg but Oconnell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tao tries to close the distance and clinch but Oconnell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It appears Oconnell was looking to counter with a kick there.
Oconnell has Tao up against the cage in a clinch.
Oconnell manages to pull guard.
Tao throws a big right hand that misses.
Tao has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Oconnell to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Tao is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Oconnell pulls down on the head and he's put Tao to sleep! This one is all over!
