These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harwath tests Joukani's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Joukani uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Harwath.

Harwath tries to throw a body punch but Joukani avoids it by throwing Harwath back against the cage.

Harwath lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Joukani or not.
Joukani's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Joukani goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Harwath blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Harwath blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Harwath is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Joukani is trying to break the clinch but Harwath has him pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Harwath lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Harwath thuds his right hand into Joukani's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Harwath tries to close the distance and clinch up but Joukani swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Joukani appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Joukani. That snapped Harwath's head back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harwath throws an off balance right hand

and Joukani counters with a crisp right hand that drops Harwath! Joukani lets Harwath back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Harwath is rocked!
Harwath cracks a nice hook into Joukani's ribs.
Oh Harwath is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joukani looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Harwath is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Joukani.
A swing and a miss from Harwath.
Harwath seems to have got his legs back now.
Joukani staying out of range there.
Joukani flicks out a counter leg kick but Harwath steps away.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Scot Harwath will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Harwath lands with a hook. Joukani tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Joukani is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harwath.

and Joukani counters with a nice right hand that sends Harwath toppling to the canvas! Harwath scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Joukani finish him?!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harwath darts in trying to clinch
and Joukani scores with a counter punch that sends Harwath to the canvas! Joukani smells blood - he's punishing Harwath with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Harwath has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Rou Joukani was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
