Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Tarver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarver shoots in for a takedown but Sss shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sss displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tarver.
Sss replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Tarver blocks it well.
Tarver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sss swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Tarver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sss leaves Tarver with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sss steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Tarver shoots in for a double leg but Sss sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sss feints the counter takedown.
Tarver shoots in looking for a takedown but Sss manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tarver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sss defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tarver.
Sss steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Tarver shoots in for a double leg but Sss sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tarver is breathing heavily.
Tarver closes the distance and clinches up with Sss, looking for a takedown. Tarver pushes Sss against the cage but Sss circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sss shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tarver is trying to defend but Sss finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sss tries to stand but can't do so whilst Tarver controls his leg.

Sss is keen to just control but Tarver is a slippery customer.

Tarver with the active half guard here but Sss passes nicely into side control.
Tarver tries to buck Sss off but Sss is having none of it.
Tarver gets back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tarver looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Sss pushes past his half guard into mount!
Sss trying to control but Tarver is having none of it.
Tarver is working to get back to half guard.
Tarver is working hard here to advance position.
Tarver manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Tarver is looking for a sweep. Sss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Tarver is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sss pulls his head out easily.

Tarver looking for submissions off his back.
Tarver is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sss's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sss's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sss is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Sss trying to control but not successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tarver looking for the RNC.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tarver is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Sss has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Tarver has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Sss taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Tarver doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Antonio Tarver!
Antonio Tarver decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
