Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Balch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Balch.
Balch looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Garcia sneaks back into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Balch lands a nice short elbow.
Balch lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Balch working the head and body with strikes.
Garcia slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Balch is looking to work some ground and pound but Garcia has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Balch is one step ahead there.
Balch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Garcia throwing short punches from the bottom.
Balch throws a big elbow that misses.
Balch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garcia on the ground.
Balch is sitting in close to Garcia's body. Garcia has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Balch is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Balch is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Garcia.
