Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry Underwood!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Underwood just misses with a punch to the body.
Cox moves out of range of the strikes.

Oooooh!!! Underwood has knocked Cox down with a huge combo! Underwood steps away and waves a wobbly Cox back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like John Cox has been cut.
Cox throws a nice looking combination but Underwood bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Underwood throws a lazy right hand but Cox sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Underwood swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cox avoids a punch combination nicely.
Underwood misses with a wild body shot.
A jab from Cox misses.
Cox throws a right and a left that Underwood avoids nicely.
Cox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Underwood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cox.
Cox keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cox misses with a series of wild punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cox lands with a nice combination. Underwood backs away looking to recover.
Cox displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Underwood throws out the jab.
Underwood stuns Cox with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Underwood connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Underwood gets tackled into the cage by Cox. Cox maintains the clinch.
Cox lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Underwood.
Cox looking for a takedown.
Underwood jumps guard but Cox stands there with Underwood around his waist. Underwood gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cox has been working on his balance at Puncher's Chance Collective, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Underwood.
Underwood prevents a body shot from Cox.
Cox lands an uppercut.
Cox misses with a punch to the body.
Cox controlling the action here for a moment.
Cox has Underwood pressed against the cage, preventing Underwood from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Underwood has picked Cox up - he's going for a ride! Underwood dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Cox on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cox tries to get out of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cox is looking to improve his position.
Cox regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Underwood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cox looking to control.
Underwood is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Underwood trying to control but Cox is working from the bottom.
Underwood tries to free his leg and advance position but Cox is retaining full guard.
Cox is trying to keep Underwood in close.
Cox pulls Underwood in close to his closed guard and prevents Underwood from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Underwood wants to control from the top but Cox keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Underwood swings for the body but Cox moves out of range.
Cox tries to clinch up but Underwood circles away and keeps his distance.
Cox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Underwood.
Underwood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cox moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Underwood swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cox cracks Underwood with an open hand slap.
Cox ducks under a wild hook from Underwood.
Cox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Underwood pinned against the cage. Underwood gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cox misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A countering left hand to the body from Underwood misses.
Underwood tries to bum rush Cox with a series of wild strikes but Cox uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Larry Underwood dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Cox's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Underwood throws a body punch but Cox moves out of range.

Cox has Underwood up against the cage in a clinch.

Cox turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cox slows the pace down.
Cox working away.
Underwood tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Underwood felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Underwood taking a bit of punishment here - Cox scoring with strikes.
Cox is looking to take a break and control but Underwood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Underwood gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Underwood tries to roll over but Cox keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Underwood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cox's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cox's back!

Underwood is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cox knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cox for a finish.

Underwood has managed to slip his arm under Cox's chin. This could be all over... yep, Cox is tapping out! Submission win for Underwood.
