Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between DJ Killeshaw (ranked 2621 p4p, 3052 weight class) and William S Burroughs (ranked 355 p4p, 409 weight class). Burroughs has chosen William S. Burroughs - A Thanksgiving Prayer as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, DJ Killeshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William S Burroughs!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killeshaw misses with a hook to the body
and Burroughs counters with a left and a right that stings Killeshaw.
Burroughs lands the left hand.
Killeshaw throws a big shot that misses.
Burroughs is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Killeshaw with a body shot.
Killeshaw tries to clinch
and Burroughs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like DJ Killeshaw has been cut.
Killeshaw misses with a two punch combination.

Burroughs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Killeshaw, pushing him back against the cage.
Burroughs lands with a short shot to the head.
Burroughs blocking some punches.
Killeshaw is trying to drag Burroughs to the mat but Burroughs just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Burroughs doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Burroughs lands a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Killeshaw tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burroughs smiles and moves away.
A right-left combo lands from Burroughs.
We've been informed that Burroughs has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Nice body punch from Burroughs.
Burroughs thuds his right hand into Killeshaw's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Burroughs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Killeshaw on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Burroughs throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Burroughs with a jab.
A jab from Burroughs finds it's way through Killeshaw's defenses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burroughs lands a right hook to the body.
Killeshaw moves forwards but Burroughs connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Burroughs scores with the left hand. Killeshaw knows he should have avoided that one.
Burroughs lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Killeshaw misses with an uppercut
and Burroughs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Burroughs.
Burroughs lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Killeshaw is looking to regain half guard here but Burroughs keeps moving and retains side control.
Burroughs working the ground and pound.
Killeshaw has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Burroughs scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Killeshaw to see if he's OK.
Killeshaw seems a little lost for a moment, as Burroughs dominates the positioning.
Killeshaw prevents Burroughs from moving into mount.
Burroughs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Killeshaw some visible discomfort.
Burroughs trying to control the action but Killeshaw is working from the bottom.
Burroughs is working Killeshaw over with some ground and pound from side control.
Killeshaw is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burroughs's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Burroughs winds up and cracks Killeshaw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

DJ Killeshaw's cut is getting worse.
Killeshaw moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Burroughs wants to control from the top but Killeshaw keeps moving.
Burroughs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Burroughs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Burroughs lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Burroughs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Killeshaw is keeping the position for now.
Burroughs throws a big right hand that misses.
Burroughs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Killeshaw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burroughs manages to get himself to full guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Killeshaw shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Burroughs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Burroughs is pulling down on Killeshaw's head to control his posture.
Killeshaw trying to control but Burroughs is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burroughs can do anything to dispel that myth.
Killeshaw throws an elbow that misses. Burroughs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Killeshaw's guard. Nice move by Burroughs!


Killeshaw working for a triangle but Burroughs defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burroughs trying to control but Killeshaw is working from the bottom.

Burroughs throws a strike but Killeshaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Killeshaw throws a big elbow that misses.
Killeshaw wants to pass the guard but Burroughs is keeping the position.
Killeshaw is working hard here to advance position.
Killeshaw prevents Burroughs from getting back to his feet.

Killeshaw wants to control from the top but Burroughs keeps moving.

Burroughs is pulling down on Killeshaw's head to control his posture.
Burroughs wants to stand and escape but Killeshaw is having none of it.
Killeshaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burroughs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Killeshaw drops back, looking for a kneebar! Burroughs looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Burroughs looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Burroughs!

DJ Killeshaw's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Burroughs cracks Killeshaw with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Burroughs looks up at the clock and then as Killeshaw takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Burroughs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jeez, DJ Killeshaw's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at DJ Killeshaw's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). William S Burroughs!
A very excited looking William S Burroughs made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
