Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frederic Bastiat (ranked 1734 p4p, 2175 weight class) and Omer Demirci (ranked 259 p4p, 311 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastiat lands a right hook to the body.

Demirci shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bastiat is trying to defend but Demirci finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Demirci goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bastiat turns into him and now he's in Demirci's guard.

Bastiat got a little sloppy there for a moment and Demirci has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bastiat has managed to get both his arms back between Demirci's legs - danger averted.

Bastiat throws out a loose jab but Demirci uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bastiat has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bastiat there as he acknowledges the shot.

Bastiat seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Demirci throws a hook to the side of Bastiat's head but Bastiat sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Demirci uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bastiat.
Bastiat misses with a takedown attempt - Demirci sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Demirci jabs Bastiat to the body, keeping him at a distance.

so Bastiat counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bastiat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Demirci on the ground.

Bastiat is working Demirci over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Demirci escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bastiat gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Demirci has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bastiat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Demirci is looking to cinch up a triangle. Bastiat throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Demirci's body to avoid the submission. Demirci has instead reached around Bastiat's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Demirci arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
