Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Ryan (ranked 3847 p4p, 25142 weight class) and Deair Shaw (ranked 464 p4p, 671 weight class). Deair Shaw is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caleb Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deair Shaw!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan drives through with a takedown into Shaw's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ryan connects with a nice short shot to Shaw's temple.
Shaw really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ryan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've been hearing good reports from Ryan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shaw throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shaw is in Ryan's guard.

Shaw has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ryan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Shaw is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ryan pulls down on the head and he's put Shaw to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Caleb Ryan!
