PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Asaki Hanaki (ranked 23081 p4p, 22733 weight class) and Miguel Lopez (ranked 609 p4p, 603 weight class). Hanaki comes into the arena with The HU - Wolf Totem blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez slips a jab and a cross from Hanaki.

Lopez drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hanaki throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Lopez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lopez wants to control from the top but Hanaki keeps moving.
Lopez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hanaki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanaki is positioning himself well to prevent Lopez advancing to mount.

Lopez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hanaki is rocked!
Lopez lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Hanaki quite badly. Hanaki pulls Lopez in close trying to recover. Lopez postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Hanaki on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Hanaki doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
