Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sunil Ganga (ranked 4052 p4p, 3995 weight class) and Magomed Magomedov (ranked 479 p4p, 475 weight class). Sunil Ganga has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Ganga as Magomedov shoots in.

Ganga rushes Magomedov and presses him up against the cage.
Magomedov is trying to drag Ganga to the mat but Ganga just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ganga doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Ganga has hold of one of Magomedov's legs. Magomedov is fighting the takedown attempt but Ganga gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ganga is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Magomedov shoots in and bounces Ganga off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ganga is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Magomedov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Magomedov goes for a takedown attempt but Ganga pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sunil Ganga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magomed Magomedov.
Magomedov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ganga drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Magomedov is looking to stand back up but Ganga counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Magomedov.

Magomedov is not content to let Ganga control the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magomedov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ganga takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ganga wants to lay and pray for a moment but Magomedov keeps working.

Ganga decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Magomedov shoots in but Ganga avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ganga breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ganga closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Magomedov is looking to get back to his feet here but Ganga is keeping cool and he's managed to take Magomedov's back.
Magomedov is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Magomedov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Ganga stuffs the takedown.
Ganga buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Ganga counters with a low kick, right behind Magomedov 's knee.
Magomedov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ganga.

Ganga shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
