Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Miocic (ranked 4290 p4p, 23749 weight class) and Miller Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miocic connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Salazar's hands.

Salazar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miocic's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Salazar postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Miocic to stand up.

Salazar closes the distance and clinches up with Miocic, looking for a takedown. Salazar pushes Miocic against the cage but Miocic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miocic uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Horrible takedown attempt by Salazar or perhaps it was just good defense by Miocic, which made it look bad.
