Montenegro clinches.
Gooningham is trying to drag Montenegro to the mat but Montenegro just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

It looks like Juan Pablo Montenegro has been cut.

Montenegro gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Gooningham looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Montenegro trying to control the position from guard on top but Gooningham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gooningham working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Montenegro has passed into half guard!
Montenegro working over Gooningham with some ground and pound. Gooningham looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Montenegro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gooningham does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Montenegro lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Montenegro wants to take a breather but Gooningham is having none of it.

Montenegro gets to his feet and stands over Gooningham, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gooningham felt that one! Montenegro unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gooningham from any more punishment!
