Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Pessanha (ranked 4402 p4p, 6336 weight class) and Jake Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen Berzerk by Eminem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Daniel Pessanha had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pessanha tries a head kick but it misses.
Peterson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pessanha tries to clinch there but Peterson circles away.
Peterson misses with a wild combination.
Peterson throws a one two combo.
Peterson fails to land the takedown.

Pessanha goes for a double leg but Peterson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peterson continues to drive forward.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peterson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Pessanha dives in and grabs Peterson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes down on Pessanha's head and hops out.

Peterson has hold of Pessanha's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pessanha manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pessanha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peterson on the ground.

Peterson has control of Pessanha's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pessanha regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Pessanha postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pessanha, into his guard.

Peterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
