Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michel Pereira (ranked 1381 p4p, 1136 weight class) and Jin Yi (ranked 205 p4p, 168 weight class). Yi has chosen Wobble as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yi looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Yi throws a lazy right hand but Pereira sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Pereira counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice defenses there by Pereira.
Yi dives in and grabs Pereira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pereira pushes down on Yi's head and hops out.

Pereira leaves Yi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pereira throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yi in particular looking to stall.
Pereira has hold of Yi's hands but Yi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Well, if Yi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Yi has Pereira pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Yi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pereira tumbling to the mat - Yi dives into Pereira's guard.

Yi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

And Yi tries to counter it with a takedown but Pereira pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Pereira cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Pereira connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michel Pereira will probably get the nod.
