Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Punch (ranked 4458 p4p, 4905 weight class) and Dave Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Wyatt!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Punch both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Dave Wyatt has been cut.
Punch lands a nice shot that snaps Wyatt's head back.
Punch lands a glancing blow to the side of Wyatt's head.
Punch misses with the combination.

Punch tries to bum rush Wyatt with a series of wild strikes but Wyatt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wyatt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wyatt shoots in looking for a takedown. Punch tries to sprawl out of it but Wyatt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Punch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Punch cracks Wyatt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Wyatt has Punch pressed against the cage, preventing Punch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Punch is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Punch takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Big Punch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Punch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Punch throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wyatt darts in looking for a takedown but Punch gets double underhooks and turns Wyatt into the cage.
Big Punch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Wyatt.
Wyatt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Punch tries to avoid it but Wyatt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Punch to the ground. Punch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Punch tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wyatt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Punch scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wyatt in his tracks.

Wyatt is working for takedown but Punch is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wyatt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Punch shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wyatt eats them both and turns towards Punch to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wyatt takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Punch is breathing heavily.

Punch drops Wyatt with a left right combo! Punch follows him down to the ground into side control.

Punch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Punch lands a lovely overhand right.

Punch has taken the fight to the clinch.
Punch wants to break free but Wyatt has control.
Punch is trying to force a seperation but Wyatt has the dominant position.

Punch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Punch needs to keep his hands up - Wyatt had a free shot at his head there.

Punch moves into the clinch successfully.

Wyatt gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Punch tries to kick Wyatt off in order to stand up. Wyatt Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Wyatt swings around for an armbar but Punch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Wyatt's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wyatt is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wyatt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Punch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
