Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amaru Kawiwasulu (ranked 205 p4p, 537 weight class) and Rashid Elkhan (ranked 33 p4p, 79 weight class). Rashid Elkhan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Amaru Kawiwasulu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rashid Elkhan!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkhan throws a jab but it's blocked by Kawiwasulu.
Kawiwasulu misses with a lunging right hand
and Elkhan counters with a nice uppercut.
Kawiwasulu moves away from the strike by Elkhan.
We've been informed that Elkhan has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Elkhan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kawiwasulu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Elkhan lands a body shot.
Elkhan works the jab nicely.
Kawiwasulu moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kawiwasulu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Elkhan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kawiwasulu is breathing heavily.
Elkhan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Elkhan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kawiwasulu's head.
Elkhan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Elkhan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Elkhan cracks Kawiwasulu with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kawiwasulu looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Elkhan finish him?

Kawiwasulu is rocked!
Elkhan lands a jab to Kawiwasulu's midsection.
Elkhan cracks a nice hook into Kawiwasulu's ribs.

Elkhan cracks Kawiwasulu with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Elkhan has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kawiwasulu to stand back up!
Oh Kawiwasulu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kawiwasulu tries to get into range but Elkhan steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Kawiwasulu! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Elkhan scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rashid Elkhan!
A very excited looking Rashid Elkhan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
