Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Quigley (ranked 1066 p4p, 78 weight class) and Sonatane Veainu (ranked 157 p4p, 16 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matthew Quigley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sonatane Veainu!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veainu closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Quigley swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Veainu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Quigley keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Veainu.
Quigley misses with a right hand
and Veainu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Matthew Quigley has been cut.
Veainu ducks under a wild hook from Quigley.
Veainu lands with a shot to the body.
Quigley staying out of range there.
Quigley connects with a looping right hand.
Veainu moves away from the strike by Quigley.
Quigley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Veainu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Quigley lands with a straight right. Veainu didn't see that one coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Veainu throws a looping overhand right but Quigley ducks down to avoid it.
Quigley is looking to counter punch.
Veainu moves out of range as Quigley strikes.
Quigley misses with a hook. Veainu ducked under it nicely.
A little jabbing left from Veainu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Veainu lands a glancing blow to the side of Quigley's head.
Quigley with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Veainu to score with a decent uppercut.
Veainu tries to clinch but Quigley is having none of it.
Quigley slips under a jab from Veainu.
Quigley swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Veainu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Quigley! Veainu lets Quigley back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Quigley is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quigley leaves his chin hanging out and Veainu seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Quigley crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
