PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ingvar Thorkstein (ranked 4621 p4p, 24450 weight class) and Calvino Imbembe (ranked 542 p4p, 644 weight class). Imbembe has chosen Tarantella napoletana as his entrance music. Calvino Imbembe told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Imbembe throws a sloppy head kick and Thorkstein moves out of range easily.
Thorkstein misses with a body kick.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Imbembe.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thorkstein is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thorkstein in particular looking to stall.

Imbembe misses with a kick to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Imbembe enables Thorkstein to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Imbembe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Thorkstein postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Imbembe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Thorkstein, into his guard.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Imbembe, as that shot connected.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Imbembe lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thorkstein has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thorkstein and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
