Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Smith (ranked 2979 p4p, 23969 weight class) and King Milleer Gonzales (ranked 286 p4p, 0 weight class). King Milleer Gonzales has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gregory Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, King Milleer Gonzales!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a wild combination.
And Gonzales tries to counter it with a takedown but Smith pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gonzales will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gonzales has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.

Gonzales ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gonzales no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gonzales wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gonzales bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzales distracts Smith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzales on the ground.

Smith looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gonzales has picked Smith up and slammed him! Smith can't keep hold of the triangle and Gonzales manages to pass to side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gonzales.
Gonzales wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely.

Gonzales goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Smith is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gonzales is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.

Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gonzales is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gonzales looking to control.
Gonzales is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gonzales is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gonzales has escaped and now he's on top!

Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

King Milleer Gonzales dominated that round.
That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Gonzales takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gonzales.
Smith throws a right hand that Gonzales ducks under and follows up with a left that Gonzales also avoids with ease.
Gonzales changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Gonzales manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Gonzales counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gonzales.

Gonzales drags the fight down to the ground.
Gonzales looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Smith trying to control but Gonzales is working from the bottom.

Gonzales escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gonzales is breathing heavily.

Gonzales thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Smith has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gonzales is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gonzales is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Smith is controlling Gonzales's trapped leg to prevent Gonzales from advancing to side control.
Gonzales looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Smith avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gonzales.

Smith tries to kick Gonzales off but Gonzales keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Smith is trying to control but can't.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gonzales has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smith throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gonzales counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gonzales.
Smith tries to strike from the bottom.

Gonzales decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gonzales takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Gonzales throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
A left and a right from Smith both land. Nice combination.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gonzales moves away from the strike by Smith.
Gregory Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gonzales slips under a jab from Smith.
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gonzales shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smith seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Gregory Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Milleer Gonzales.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Gonzales counters by clinching up.
Gonzales jumps guard but Smith stands there with Gonzales around his waist. Gonzales gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smith tries to break free but Gonzales pushes him back against the cage.
Gonzales stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Smith wants to break free but Gonzales has control.
Smith wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gonzales drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith scores with a nice strike.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gregory Smith dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Gonzales gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Gonzales down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Gonzales back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Gonzales is rocked!

It looks like King Milleer Gonzales has been cut.
Smith swinging wildly here.
Gonzales is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Gonzales tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Gonzales seems to have recovered his senses.
A head kick misses from Gonzales.
Gonzales fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith misses with a right hand
and Gonzales counters with a body kick.
Smith throws out a powerful jab.
Gonzales gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Gonzales tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Smith is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Gonzales buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Gonzales!! Gonzales is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Smith throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregory Smith!
