Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Valerio Falto (ranked 2228 p4p, 1092 weight class) and Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 134 p4p, 62 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoenfeld tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Falto is able to avoid easily.
Falto swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Shoenfeld doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Falto counters with a two punch combo.

Shoenfeld bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Falto is trying to control Shoenfeld's posture but Shoenfeld avoids it.
Falto is not content to let Shoenfeld control the position.
Shoenfeld tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Shoenfeld misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Shoenfeld wants to lay and pray for a moment but Falto keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Falto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shoenfeld has hold of Falto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Falto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shoenfeld is looking to defend but Falto has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shoenfeld! Falto pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shoenfeld taps out and this one is all over!
