The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Macho sprawls well. Macho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. St Pierre gets slowly back to his feet.
Macho throws out a counter right but St Pierre avoids it with no problem.
Macho is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Jonathan St Pierre has been cut.
Macho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Macho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

St Pierre bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Macho throws a right hand that St Pierre ducks under and follows up with a left that St Pierre also avoids with ease.
Macho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and St Pierre counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Macho wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and St Pierre manages to pass to side control.

Macho tries to lock up and control but St Pierre gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
St Pierre tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
St Pierre has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Macho's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Macho is in a horrible position here. St Pierre smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

St Pierre is working for a guillotine from mount but Macho frees his head quite easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

St Pierre cracks Macho with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The referee warns Macho that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Macho looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

St Pierre has hold of Macho's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Macho manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Macho wants to control his opponent's hands but St Pierre gets his hands free.
