Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Dollaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reese!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reese rushes Dollaway and presses him up against the cage.
Reese will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dollaway up against the cage.

Reese gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Dollaway is trying to maintain the position but Reese is very close to passing his half guard.
Dollaway is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reese controlling the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reese is looking for a kimura but Dollaway is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Reese to get the leverage.

Reese tries to stand and escape but Dollaway is controlling the position.
Dollaway wants to get back to full guard but Reese has mounted him!
Reese has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dollaway's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dollaway takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Reese takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reese tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Reese wants to stand but Dollaway is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Reese scoring with strikes but Dollaway is staying in there.

Reese has hold of Dollaway's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dollaway manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reese is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Reese looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Dollaway is working to get back to half guard.
Dollaway takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Reese is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dollaway can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Reese lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dollaway hang on?
Dollaway knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reese on the ground.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Reese drives through and clinches with Dollaway against the cage.

Dollaway has clasped his hands together around Reese's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Reese sneaks back into half guard.
Reese is controlling Dollaway's trapped leg to prevent Dollaway from advancing to side control.

Reese actively working from the bottom here.

Reese is pressing down on Dollaway's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reese is on top in guard.

Reese slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dollaway on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dollaway tries to get out of the position.
Dollaway is trying to control the position but Reese postures up.
Reese has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Reese drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Reese seems to have locked his on tight now - Dollaway screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Reese, as he picks up the win!
