Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Hickock (ranked 2134 p4p, 5885 weight class) and Jakob Irons (ranked 261 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Dick Hickock has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irons shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hickock counters with a straight right hand.
Irons throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hickock counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A head kick misses from Irons.
An attempted straight right counter from Hickock misses the target.
A shot to the liver by Hickock. Beautiful body shot.
Hickock definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hickock connects with a body shot that sends Irons's belly button to the back.

Irons closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Irons trying to control the position but instead, Hickock has worked for underhooks and has pushed Irons into the cage.
Hickock just leaning against Irons, taking a breather.

Hickock pulls guard.
Hickock is trying to keep Irons in close.

Hickock looking for subs off his back but Irons has passed one foot through into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hickock tries to get to full guard but Irons has control of the leg.

Irons wants to take a breather but Hickock is having none of it.
Hickock is controlling Irons's trapped leg to prevent Irons from advancing to side control.

Hickock with the active half guard here but Irons passes nicely into side control.
Hickock tries to bench press Irons off him but Irons keeps the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Irons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hickock keeps working.

Irons looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Irons is trying to work for a kimura but Hickock is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hickock is looking for a sweep. Irons is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Irons is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hickock is just riding it out for now. Irons eventually gives up the hold.
Hickock wants to control but Irons is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Irons has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Muay Thai and BJJ | Clinchwork. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Irons got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hickock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Irons has managed to get both his arms back between Hickock's legs - danger averted.

Irons content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Hickock has locked up a guillotine! Hickock's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Irons is holding on here and Hickock must be using up a lot of energy. Irons has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hickock gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
