The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diehard throws a right and a left that Matthews avoids nicely.
Diehard misses with a takedown attempt - Matthews sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Matthews half committed to a counter leg kick.

Matthews closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diehard to the mat! Diehard manages to get full guard.
Matthews working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Matthews advances position into side control!
Diehard tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthews tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Matthews really is a fat lump.

Diehard tries to bench press Matthews off him but Matthews keeps the position.
Matthews lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Diehard gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Matthews looking to control but Diehard is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Diehard tries to hold on but Matthews postures up.
The referee warns Diehard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Matthews is landing with some decent strikes but Diehard is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

It looks like Bruno Diehard has been cut.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Matthews cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Diehard is rocked!
Matthews unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Diehard wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Matthews celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
