PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Savage Goon (ranked 3454 p4p, 3337 weight class) and Jushin Liger (ranked 412 p4p, 407 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Savage Goon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jushin Liger!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liger has his takedown stuffed
enabling Goon to counter with a crisp jab.
Goon leaves Liger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Liger fails with a takedown attempt.
Savage Goon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jushin Liger.
Goon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Liger momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Liger wants to clinch
and Goon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Goon connects with a looping right hand.

Goon lands a left and a right that send Liger crashing to the mat, dazed. Goon thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Goon sizes up Liger with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Goon stuns Liger with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Liger gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Goon counters with a nice uppercut.
Liger misses with a takedown attempt
and Goon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Liger looks winded!
Goon lands the left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Liger with a poor takedown
and Goon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Goon with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Liger fails with a takedown attempt.
Goon jabs Liger right on the nose. Liger blinks but takes it well.
Liger misses with a takedown
letting Goon counter with a right hand.
Goon is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Liger moves to clinch but Goon breaks away
and Goon counters with a straight right hand.
Goon shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Liger eats them both and turns towards Goon to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Goon feints with a jab and clips Liger right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Liger is sent crashing into the canvas and Goon leaps in for the kill! Liger tries to get to his feet but Goon is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Liger is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Savage Goon!
