Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Conover (ranked 3138 p4p, 4078 weight class) and Maverick Diaz (ranked 368 p4p, 466 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conover bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Diaz's head backwards.
Conover has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Diaz throws a hook to the side of Conover's head but Conover sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Diaz misses with a hook.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Conover manages to avoid it.

Diaz looks to throw the jab but Conover is out of range.
Conover appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Diaz might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That was a close round but I would say that Charlie Conover will probably get the nod.

and Conover counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Conover connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Diaz's hands.
Diaz loads up on a big right hand but Conover slips the punch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz walks straight into a right hand from Conover - that's dropped him! Conover jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Diaz from any more punishment! Diaz complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
