Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Pinales (ranked 657 p4p, 659 weight class) and Butch Thighpunch (ranked 95 p4p, 96 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Butch Thighpunch!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinales closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thighpunch circles away.
Thighpunch misses the jab.
Pinales gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thighpunch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pinales shoots in and drives through. Thighpunch sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Pinales. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thighpunch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pinales shoots in looking for a takedown. Thighpunch tries to sprawl out of it but Pinales keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thighpunch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Pinales counters with a single leg into guard. Thighpunch didn't expect that.

Pinales postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Thighpunch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pinales, into his guard.

Thighpunch looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Pinales has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thighpunch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pinales is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thighpunch is aware though and is defending well.

Pinales working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thighpunch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thighpunch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pinales has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Thighpunch should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Pinales has tightened it up now! Thighpunch should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
