PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Evans (ranked 4532 p4p, 4070 weight class) and Theodore Cummings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cummings clinches up with Evans and pushes him back against the cage.
Evans has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cummings is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Evans tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cummings's elbow.

Evans is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cummings to keep the fight standing.
Evans wants to get back to striking at distance but Cummings won't allow it.

Cummings has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Evans can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Evans not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Evans's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cummings trying to keep a closed guard but Evans is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Evans tries to clinch but Cummings is having none of it.
Cummings appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Cummings pulls out of a head kick attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Evans.

Cummings drives through and clinches with Evans against the cage.

Evans manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A combination from Evans does no damage.

Cummings shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evans's guard.
Cummings really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Evans pushes Cummings off looking to stand but Cummings dives back in and keeps control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cummings.

Evans swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Cummings drives through with a takedown into Evans's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Evans kicks Cummings off and gets to his feet.

Cummings shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Evans wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cummings manages to pass to side control.

Cummings lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cummings cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Evans manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Cummings is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Cummings tries to pass the half guard into mount. Evans knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Evans is staying active underneath Cummings, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Evans wants to control but Cummings is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Max Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Evans enables Cummings to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Evans manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Evans kicks Cummings off and gets to his feet.

Theodore Cummings showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Evans's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Cummings is stalling here. Evans is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cummings seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Evans has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Max Evans.
